SENIOR graphic designer II

Location

Sioux City, IA Bellevue, NE

Work on assigned agency accounts to develop collateral materials including but not limited to, brochures, catalogs, flyers, signage, stationery, print ads, websites, graphics for broadcast materials and miscellaneous print collateral.  Development includes everything from initial concept to final pre-press artwork.

Essential Functions
  • Work on assigned agency accounts to develop collateral materials including but not limited to, brochures, catalogs, flyers, signage, stationery, print ads, websites, graphics for broadcast materials and miscellaneous print collateral.  Development includes everything from initial concept to final pre-press artwork.
  • Work with members of the agency team to develop overall campaign concepts for other agency clients and help facilitate development of the concept in all elements of the client campaign.  
  • Assigned illustration and original artwork as needed.  Development of design opportunities for client programs.
  • Coordination and joint supervision of Graphic Designer’s assigned projects, including client print and web catalog production.  Mentors Graphic Designer to help improve client knowledge, graphic styles and final artwork.
  • Participate in other agency projects such as brainstorming and production coordination for other miscellaneous projects.
  • Undertakes self-training to improve skills in overall campaign conceptual development, graphic design software, techniques, web development, marketing strategies, personnel management.  Participates in agency-sponsored training sessions.
  • Works under supervision of Art Director.

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel to be expected.

Experience

  • Strong creative ability and computer graphics skills 
  • Full knowledge of the following programs; Adobe Creative Suite (all programs); other graphic design programs and office software 
  • Experience with Flash, JavaScript and HTML a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work in deadline driven environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • High degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. 
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback, prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. 
  • Interact in a team environment with other agency team members to achieve efficient, seamless workflow.  

 

Education 

Associates degree from an accredited graphic arts institution or BA degree in Graphic Design/Graphic Arts or related field or 5+ years related experience. A minimum of five years graphic design experience in an agency or design firm.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Maintains a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
